Heads Up Technologies Provides LED
Cabin Interior Lighting System for
Cessna’s CX and Excel Production Aircraft
LED based system provides ease of installation, superior
reliability and flexibility to meet all cabin interior lighting requirements.
Carrollton, Texas ---
November 4, 2003--- Heads Up Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of
electronic solutions for corporate, regional and commercial aircraft, will provide
the interior lighting system for Cessna Aircraft Company’s popular Citation
X and Citation Excel production aircraft. The LED-based lighting system were featured
in the Citation XLS mock-up in Cessna’s exhibit this year during the NBAA
in New Orleans as well as in the Citation XLS and Citation X aircraft at the static
display.
Utilizing state-of-the-art LED technology, the
Heads Up system includes up-wash, down-wash, aisle lighting, and toe-kick lighting
elements as well as power supplies and controllers. Work lights and accent lights
in the galley will also make use of the same technology. The 28 VDC system reduces
electrical noise associated with traditional cold cathode systems by eliminating
high voltage inverters and is capable of dimming from 0 to 100% brightness. The
unique optical design incorporates color correction to achieve any desired color
temperature thus providing very natural lighting conditions. Brightness levels
are comparable to cold cathode solutions.
The LED lighting elements can be customized
to any length and shape, and can be spaced closely together for “seamless”
lighting effects. The rugged mechanical design eliminates breakage associated
with cold cathode solutions. Cabin lighting system weight has also been significantly
decreased compared to traditional lighting systems since high voltage inverters
are not required and aircraft wiring requirements are also simplified.
