Position: Field Applications Engineer (Savannah, GA)

This position entails multi-disciplinary responsibilities supporting the customer on behalf of Heads Up’s Engineering, Customer Service, and Sales. As such, this position is a permanent extension and projection of Heads Up Technologies at a Customer’s Facility. The essence of the position is to be the day to day face of Heads Up and act as the “go to” person for the customer in the areas detailed below.

 

General Objectives

​

  • Coordinate between Customer and Heads Up on technical matters (primary) and commercial matters (as required).

  • Help gather and communicate customer expectations and needs.

  • Field service inquiries and reporting of field issues to stakeholders.

  • Coordinate visits of other Heads Up personnel to Customer facilities.

  • Provide follow up to meetings and/or commitments.

  • Support new opportunities with the Customer as they arise.

 

Detailed Objectives

​

  • Support Heads Up Engineering with the following tasks:

    • Represent Heads Up in person at recurring program meeting for active

      development and ongoing product support programs.

    • Coordinate, as required, the interface between Customer Engineering and

      Heads Up Engineering.

    • Other engineering tasks as required.

  • Support Heads Up Customer Service with the following tasks:

    • Field service inquiries related to the Customer.

    • Report field issues to Customer Service and/or Engineering, help drive to

      resolution.

    • Help develop and implement training programs for installation and

      troubleshooting Heads Up products.

  • Support Heads Up Operations with the following tasks:

    • Assist with installation and/or configuration issues. 

    • Communicate issues, suggestions for improvement, and resolutions.

    • Support and coordinate EOL/obsolescence issues.

  • Support Heads Up Sales with the following tasks:

    • Gather and communicate feedback that will enhance Heads Up’s competitiveness.

    • Assist with development of presentations and other materials as required.

    • Assist with RFP responses.

    • Present new products and technologies to the Customer.

       

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

​

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in Engineering or a related field

  • Aviation background with knowledge of regulatory framework.

  • Excellent communication skills including writing and interdepartmental teamwork.

  • Windows collaboration tools. Office, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams.

  • Customer service orientation with high sense of urgency.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

​

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Excellent communication skills including public speaking

  • Product development, FAA qualification and certification

  • Specific experience in Business Aviation Interiors and/or Aircraft OEM.

  • Specific experience with LED Lighting, CMS, or IFE.
