Position: Mechanical Engineer

Objectives of this Role

​

• Participate in R&D and new product design efforts.

• Responsible for mechanical design, layout, prototype development of new aircraft avionics and electrical products. 

• Support marketing with drawings and concepts to facilitate presentations and proposals.

• Responsible for sustaining efforts for existing product line.  

• Conceive, research and implement engineering design changes yielding in improvements in manufacturability.

 

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

​

• BSME or equivalent.

• Proficient in Solid Edge (or equivalent).  Will be required to use Solid Edge and expected to support both engineering and marketing with solid model designs and/or graphics.

• Mechanical design experience utilizing sheet metal, machined parts, injection molded plastics in an aerospace or military manufacturing environment.

• Microsoft Outlook – basic familiarity with Groupware programs.

• Microsoft Office – reasonable proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Viso.

• Strong problem-solving skills relating to software design.

• Logical thought processes, excellent attention to details.

• Ability to conceptualize and implement innovative electrical engineering solutions requiring aggressive completion schedules.

• Ability to multi-task.

• Positive interpersonal skills dealing with co-workers, etc.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

​

• Industrial Design experience.

• Parametric Software.

• FEA and/or thermal analysis experience.

• Familiarity with FAA requirements.

• Understanding of design methodologies and processes for injection molding, sheet metal, and machined part design.

• Ability to work well independently in a loosely structured environment.
