A complete LED cabin lighting system interfaces to the Cabin Management System to bring a new level of lighting design and sophistication to the King Air 350i. Carrollton, Texas – October 19, 2009 – Heads Up Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of electronic solutions for general aviation and commercial aircraft, has developed and qualified the LED cabin lighting system for the Beechcraft King Air 350i. Production deliveries begin in 4th quarter, 2009.
The LED cabin lighting system consisted of wash lighting, reading lights, table lights, floor lighting, entry lights, lavatory lights, and accent lighting as well as the proprietary controllers to interface all the lights to the Rockwell Collins VenueTM Cabin management system. Heads Up also provided the cockpit reading lights. The Venue system can command individual lights or the entire lighting system to change intensities. The lighting system controllers execute the change with a smooth ramping function which adds significant aesthetic value.
“Heads Up has worked closely with Hawker Beechcraft engineers and interior designers to create a lighting system that compliments the new King Air 350i interior as well as adds some sophisticated new features” said Rob Harshaw, President/CEO for Heads Up. “For example, with a touch of a single button, a passenger can configure the entire cabin lighting system for optimum movie viewing without ever leaving his seat” he added.
