Position: Product Manager (Lighting, CMS, IFE)

The Product Manager is a “business” person with a technical orientation. They will rigorously execute the process of assessing these five domains, documenting the findings, and making recommendations to HUT leadership. The outputs of this activity will be a “living document” called the Market Map, which is made up of the following components:

  • Market Assessment

  • Competitive Assessment

  • Technology Roadmap

  • Timelines

 

The Product Manager will own and drive all of this.

​

Objectives of this Role

​

  • Drive the product planning process.

  • Assess customer needs, partner/vendor technologies, market trends, and competitive offerings.

  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure visibility and understanding about the direction we are going.

  • Facilitate our “BD-to-PD” process where technology exploration and new product ideas are envisioned > defined > approved > handed over to Engineering for Development.

  • Author requirements documents for markets, customers, and products.

  • Drive business case development for new product investments and ROI expectations.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain timelines for product introduction.

  • Work with Marketing to promote the product effectively.

  • Support Business Development activities to sell the product.

  • Present products and capabilities to customers.

  • Drive End-Of-Life activities for legacy products.

 

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

​

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field.

  • 3 years’ experience in product management, engineering, business development or related field.

  • Excellent communication skills including writing, presenting, interdepartmental teamwork.

  • Business and commercial acumen with Aviation background.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

​

  • 5 years’ experience in product management, engineering, business development or related field.

  • Excellent communication skills including public speaking.

  • Specific experience in Business Aviation.

  • Specific experience with LED Lighting, CMS, or IFE.

  • Financial acumen including business case development and rationalization.
